A group of young people from Wings Cumbria have been out and about as part of their John Muir Award. The award is made up of four challenges; Explore it, Discover wild places, Conserve it, and Share your experiences.
As part of the ‘Explore Award’, they ventured into the beautiful Lake District. Wings Cumbria is lucky to have such an exciting place, virtually in the back garden. Once they got above the clouds, they experienced a temperature inversion. It made for some great views.
The staff and young people ventured out to Great Urswick Scout Camp as part of their ‘Conserve Award’.
They worked extremely hard with a day of coppicing and learning about habitat management, finishing the day with some fun in the snow!
