Pupils and staff thoroughly enjoyed a St Patricks Day assembly lead by our principal Donagh McKillop.
During the assembly, it was explained to the pupils who St Patrick was and what he became famous for. Mr. McKillop also explained the history of the various symbols and signs associated with Ireland (Shamrock, Harp, The Blarney Stone, The Claddagh Ring, Shillelagh). The highlight of the assembly was Mr. McKillop donning traditional Irish dress and performing his all-famous Irish dance. He also gave the pupils a demonstration of how to play the Bodhran – an Irish drum.
