Our school is a beautiful historic building set in extensive grounds within a small Nottinghamshire village. Both the grounds and the school buildings lend themselves to both on and off-site learning. Facilities include small nurture learning spaces, full size sports hall, and extensive grounds and playing fields.
Wings School Notts provides a broad National Curriculum with subject specific classrooms and learning spaces for science, history, geography, design and technology, music, health and beauty, food technology, information technology and horticulture.
Wings School Notts offers a gradual transition period for children and young people in order to settle them in to their new school life and residential setting.
The care home provision at Wings Notts is made up of a purpose built home which is sectioned in to smaller living areas as well as separate buildings on site which offer smaller more bespoke living accommodation for those requiring specialist support. Led by the Registered Manager, the care staff support every child to help them gain the living and coping skills to take them in to adult life.
Within each of the homes there is a lounge, dining room, fully equipped kitchen and a choice of shower or bathrooms. There are outdoor spaces and gardens as well as a fully large sports hall. Young people are supported to focus on their wellbeing, independent living skills, community activities, education, learning and choice.
The clinical team is psychology and formulation led with professionals from a range of clinical backgrounds. They work together to provide bespoke care packages to meet the complex needs of our group of young people. The clinical team includes a Clinical Psychologist, Nurse, Speech and Language Therapist, Occupational Therapist and an Educational Psychologist. We also have psychiatric overview from a child and adolescent psychiatrist. We adopt the principles of the Attachment, Regulation and Competencies framework, Dan Hughes PACE model, and Kim Goulding’s House of Parenting model to identify key targets of intervention for our young people. The Clinical psychologist is trained to deliver psychological therapies including; Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy, Theraplay, Systemic therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Systemic Therapy and Compassion Focused Therapy.

At Wings School Notts we use Sleuth to analyse and record behaviour and development of our pupils. This software sits alongside our own assessment framework that can measure the progress of our pupils in relation to the essential skills.
