Domestic Supervisor / Housekeeping Supervisor

Monday to Friday 8am – 4pm or 10am - 6pm

As a result of a continual growth and development Kedleston Schools are looking to appoint a new Domestic Supervisor at High Peak School, Stockport.

High Peak School is a residential school providing 52 week provision for young people aged 9 to 17 years with social, emotional and behavioral difficulties. The Domestic Supervisor will be responsible for managing all aspects of domestic housekeeping in the school and residential homes at High Peak School. They will be responsible for maintaining high levels of domestic cleanliness to ensure safe and comfortable accommodation and school facilities for the young people and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establishing, monitoring and reviewing weekly routines and household tasks which will provide the necessary domestic support to, and the smooth running of, the School and residential houses.
  • Ordering clothing, cleaning supplies and household supplies as necessary.
  • Helping to establish systems which will safeguard the health and safety of the children and staff at High Peak School.
  • Supervise and direct staff when necessary. Provide support to enable the team to achieve the high standards required to maintain the highest levels of care.
  • Cover for members of the Domestic Team in their absence.
  • Operating appropriate Induction, supervision, training and Performance Management systems with regard to the Domestic Team.
  • Arranging appropriate Domestic staff for the lunch time service
  • Co-ordinate the storage of cleaning equipment and cleaning materials.
  • Keeping a detailed Inventory of stock.
  • Checking all cleaning supplies orders and informing the Financial Administrator through the Purchase Order system.
  • Checking all orders regarding the above and informing the Financial Administrator through the Purchase Order System.

You will ideally have an NVQ 2 or 3 in cleaning or be working towards one of these. However experience in a similar establishment or hotel/service industry would be very advantageous. If you are looking for the next step in your professional career, showing you have proven experience and would now like to manage and supervise a small team of domestic staff, then this may be the job for you. You must have experience in managing and supervising staff.
