School Kitchen Assistant / Catering Assistant – Kirklington, Nr Newark / Mansfield

10am - 3pm Mon - Fri

We are currently looking to recruit a School Kitchen Assistant to be based at our school in Kirklington, Newark. The Kitchen Assistant will be report to the Head of Domestics and on occasion the School Principal. The Kitchen Assistant will be responsible for supporting the Chef with daily kitchen and catering duties between the hours of 10:00am and 3pm Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning to a high standard all areas in the Kitchen delegated by the Cook or the Housekeeping Manager
  • Assisting the Cook with the preparation and cooking of food from time to time
  • Making of salads and sandwiches which may be required
  • Adhering to good health and hygiene practices
  • Assisting in the serving up of food
  • Assisting in the clearing up of the Dining Room after the meal has been eaten
  • Participating in arrangements for your Induction, supervision, training and development.
  • Undertaking qualifications deemed necessary by the Housekeeping Manager
  • Principal / Registered Manager to fulfil the requirements of the post.
  • Participating in the safeguarding of all the children and ensuring that Wings Education Limited Child Protection Policy is adhered to

Person Specification:

  • Experience previously in a catering role
  • Food Hygiene training (Desirable)
  • Hard working attitude
  • Organised approach
