Five students from our Nurture class at Wings Notts have started to go every Monday to an outdoor learning provision. This gives the Nurture students an alternative start to the week and lets them work as a team on many different projects.
The Cherokee Asi is one of the on-going projects at Hill Holt Wood. It is an original Native Indian design with upright logs supporting a roof and then willow weaved in between the logs to hold it all together. When the willow walls are finished they will be covered in clay and the main supporting roof beam will be removed so the roof will slightly drop onto the walls and hold it all together. The building can be worked on by students from any schools that attend so is a really good project for young people.
