John Allen is currently in the process of applying for full registration with Ofsted, to become the homes registered manager.
John qualifications include Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social care and Children and Young People’s services. Achieving this diploma in 2014
A Foundation Degree in Therapeutic Communication and Therapeutic Organisations obtained at Essex University in 2010.
John has worked both within Children’s and adult services bringing with him experience of working with those whose diagnoses have included SEBD, ASD, ADHD, ODD, LD, and those with mental health concerns.
John has been a deputy manager of a children’s home as well as acting manager.
Charline Watsham joined Wood Grove in January 2012 she has over 6 years’ experience of working with children and young people with Social Emotional and Behavioural difficulties. She has an NVQ3 in Health & Social Care (Children and Young People), an NVQ level 2 in Team Leading, Charline is the Designated Child Protection Officer for the home and is currently enrolled on an NVQ Assessor course.
Nikki Thorburn has worked in childcare for over 14 years for Wood Grove and prior to this worked as a child minder. Nikki has been a Manager, Team Leader and Deputy Home Manager. Course completed include: Therapeutic communication in Therapeutic Organisations, Designated Child Protection Officer, Multi-agency Care Planning, Children and CSE, and Working in the Face of Violence. Nikki has a vast amount of experience in working with children, young people and families, supervising and leading staff groups and in multi-agency working. Nikki is currently undertaking her NVQ level 5 in management and leadership.
Dean Kent became a full time member of the team in April 2014, he has over 8 years’ experience of working with children and young people with SEMH. Dean has also obtained experience as a Team Leader working with Adults with Challenging behaviours. Dean has completed his NVQ 3 in Health & Social Care (children and young people). He has participated on courses including Behaviour Management, Emotional Intelligence and Building Rapport.
