Staff at High Peak

The children and young people at High Peak School are supported by the education and care teams led by the Principal.  Educational staff includes teachers, pastoral support and teaching assistants and there is also access to the school nurse, counselling and psychology.  The care team is led by the Head of Care and includes the Registered Manager along with both day and night care workers. All staff ensure the well-being of the young people at High Peak School is met and that they know they are valued and cared for.

Anne Price

Head Teacher

I work for the Kedleston Group as Head Teacher of High Peak School,

I have worked in the arena of special education from the moment of entering the teaching profession 39 years ago. I have worked in both the school and further education sectors during that time.

My working career started in farming and it was only my mother seeing a very small advert in the local paper, where the local college was advertising for a tutor to teacher animal studies and horticulture that I got into teaching.

I first started as an unqualified teacher and then for the next 15 years worked full time and studied to become qualified, gaining a B Phil Ed (Special Education) at Birmingham University and an MBA from the University of Wolverhampton.

Over time my career progressed from a qualified teacher, to middle manager and then senior manager. I have worked with some amazing people over the years who gave me many opportunities. I became the Principal of a residential specialist college, where I also held the responsibility of Registered Manager. I have held the post of Director of Education at David Lewis working with children and young people with epilepsy and then became Head Teacher of Inscape House School, working with children and young people with ASC.

I am passionate about encouraging pupils, staff and families to aspire to things they never thought possible by working together to breaking down the barriers to success. I am privileged as a Head Teacher to have it within my power to make things happen – so watch this space to see the employability, vocational and enterprise opportunities that will soon start to burst forth at High Peak.
