The very wet conditions at the Westmorland County Show didn't put a 'dampener' on the enjoyment of the more than 30 young people from Wings School Cumbria who visited the event.
While the weather might not have been perfect, the children - suitably kitted out with wellies and waterproofs - loved visiting the whoe, which is one of the local events of the year. It celebrates the best of farming, food and country living.
It is a unique day out where the children could watch livestock competitors battle it out for a coveted Champion trophy, top Level show jumping, a parade of hounds and traditional heavy horses.
There was also an amazing food hall where they sampled locally produced goodies ranging from cheese to pies to elderflower cordial and sweet treats. There were also forestry displays, more than 400 trade stands, birds of prey, Cumberland & Westmorland wrestling displays, and much, much more. A great day was had by all!
