Our curriculum follows the National Curriculum with subject specific classrooms and learning spaces for science, history, geography, music, food technology, information technology and horticulture. Following assessment, Wings Notts offers a gradual transition period for children and young people to settle them in to their new school life.

We also have a fantastic opportunity for young people who are unable to access the National Curriculum in a classroom environment. Our 'Alternative Curriculum' which is based on a 'beyond the classroom' concept allows young people to reengage with education and connect with the wider community through a practical approach to learning. We work with some amazing local contacts such as; Oasis Community Centre, Thoresby Estate and Idle Valley Nature Reserve.

In addition to formal timetabled lessons, Key Stage 4 young people are provided with careers and college guidance, social and economic skills and work experience to prepare them for adult life.  The education staff work with each young person to make sure they are given every opportunity to reach their potential.  Whether it is GCSEs or other qualifications the school aims to help young people achieve the things they need to help them succeed in the future.

A unique aspect of what we offer is our therapeutic and systemic clinical model that is embedded throughout care and school. We work as a team around the child and draw on a range of evidence-based interventions that are tailored to each young person’s individual needs.
