Arc School Old Arley is registered with Ofsted for boys and girls, aged seven to 16 years, who are struggling with social, emotional & behavioural problems with or without mental health difficulties. The school supports children and young people with various educational and social needs, some of which are associated with the challenges of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, attachment disorder, autism, Asperger’s, dyslexia and dyspraxia.
The school is situated near Nuneaton in Warwickshire and has places for 45 pupils who come to the school with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), sometimes still referred to as a Statement of Special Educational Needs (SSENs).
Many of the children and young people come to the school believing they are not good at anything because they have been measured and valued in an environment which was not suited to their needs or allowed them to experience success. At Arc School Old Arley this idea is rejected, the school works hard to create enabling and learning environments which are built on trust and respect.
