Pupils at our specialist school in Warwickshire have been celebrating their recent exam results.
The pupils, from Arc School Old Arley, achieved in a range of qualifications including GCSE and Functional Skills in subjects including Maths, English, Science, ICT and Art. Everyone who sat a GCSE passed the exam and each pupil achieved an average of eight qualifications.
Each student moving on from the school achieved a formal qualification in mathematics and English alongside a range of other academic, vocational and other qualifications including Humanities, Food Studies and PE.
All of the students will go on to further education, employment or training including apprenticeships and college courses in construction, computing, countryside and environment, photography, drama and music, IT and motor mechanics.
Head Teacher Victoria Bates said: "We’re thrilled to share the wonderful results achieved by our students and what those achievements will allow them to move on to as they progress through their academic and learning journey.
“Their hard work and determination were key factors in helping them all achieve so much. On average, our students achieved more than eight individual qualifications each and that number does not include all of the additional qualifications such as BTECs, Duke of Edinburgh and others which were also successfully undertaken.
“The aim at Old Arley is to enable students to achieve those qualifications in the subjects which matter to them and will help them move on in the direction they want whether that be academically or vocationally. That’s why we offer such a wide range of diverse academic, vocational and other opportunities and we’re delighted these have been fully embraced by the students.
“We are extremely proud of them all. These results are the first step towards their futures and stand them in great stead for their further achievements.”
Arc School Old Arley is a day school and provides education and care for children with social, emotional and mental health difficulties.
The school is part of the Kedleston Group which has a range of residential and day schools across the UK. Across the company’s seven secondary schools, pupils achieved a range of qualifications with hundreds of individual achievements recorded for students across more than 100 different qualifications on offer.
