Yesterday the students and staff at High Peak gathered in St Mary's Church, Disley for the End of Year Awards Ceremony. The Church are always happy to host the event due to a fantastic long standing positive between themselves and High Peak and is a great opportunity to be part of the local community.
This year there was a new trophy, donated by a former student and is for the 'Most Improved Student'.
The trophy for Upper School was awarded to Cameron Mills who started at High Peak School in October 2014. Cam is flourishing and currently achieving qualifications when it was predicted he would more than likely not get any. He now acts as a mentor in Lower school and has recently supported the Lower School with their drama production whilst acting as camera man.
The Lower School award goes to Sydney Morris. Sydney’s progress at the school so far has been fantastic. She is instrumental in helping other students, she is mature, likeable, friendly and always happy to support anyone.
There was also the opportunity to thank and reward members of the staff team for their outstanding commitment and hard work over the past academic year. Flowers were awarded to Mrs Webster and Mrs Rathmill, seen in the photo below. Well done to both.
Well done to both Cameron and Sydney, but also to every student at High Peak School for a year of successes. Time for a much deserved summer holiday break for staff and students.
