DBT Skills Training (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy)
There are some very exciting developments happening within our clinical and therapeutic team and to the offer at High Peak School, Cheshire.
DBT Skills Training for Emotional Problem Solving for Adolescents (DBT STEPS-A) is an evidence based universal programme that aims to help young people manage and regulate their difficult emotions and behaviours, increase problem solving skills and equip them to manage stressful situations.
Further to a team of educators being trained in this universal programme curriculum last year by pioneers in the field, the school is now set out to implement a comprehensive school based DBT service.
All care and teaching staff at High Peak will be participating in DBT Essential Skills training this month, enabling a whole school approach to emotional skill building, wellbeing and resilience in children and young people cared for at High peak.
This comprehensive school based DBT service is aimed to firmly embed in the school timetable following Christmas Break.
