It was a busy and fun end to the year at Olsen House School, Liverpool for the staff and students......
The school hosted a parent’s and carer’s coffee morning. There was a good turnout of parents, all in all there were around 50 parents/carers who attended on the morning and they captured some good feedback about the school. There was a lovely atmosphere with parents, staff and children sharing a buffet lunch at the end of the morning.
Students went on a reward trip to the Sandcastle Water Park in Blackpool. All the children and the staff attended. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day. Our Key Stage 3 group were particularly brilliant ambassadors for the school.
Staff member of the month for August is Carly Ashton. She has worked her magic throughout the year in the Bluebird class with those students with a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Condition offering expert support and guidance. Well done Carly.
The Key Stage 3 children enjoyed a trip Bodelwyddan Castle for their last enrichment trip. Everyone had a good day and enjoyed finding out more about the Grade II listed Victorian building in North Wales.
The year 10 children have all successfully completed their work experience placements. All have been brilliant and the school has had really positive feedback on the boys’ attitude, work ethic and enthusiasm.
The Bluebird class received their gardening award from Royal Horticultural Society. They have been working hard on the allotment to get it ready for the next growing season. What a great achievement!
The school will have to sadly say ‘good-bye’ to Mr Nelson, Mr Donaghy and Mr Doyle as they move on to new ventures. Mr Nelson is moving to teach in Dubai and Mr Donaghy and Mr Doyle are completing their teaching qualifications back at University.
There will be will have lots of new staff joining in September…..so watch this space.
Have a great summer everyone, enjoy the well-deserved break!
