The pupils are supported by a team of educational staff which include teachers and learning support assistants all of who offer a nurturing approach to learning. The staff can also call in the expertise of both clinical and educational psychology to offer support for each child or young person. The education team is matched by a care team, managed by a Registered Manager, Deputy and both day and night care workers.
The Ofsted Education Report from June 2017 said: "Teachers have high expectations and they plan activities that enable pupils to make good progress."

Rowan joined Wings School in January 2011 following working in mainstream schools throughout Lancashire and Cumbria. During his time in mainstream Rowan had additional responsibility for the induction of new members of staff and mentoring PGCE students.
He believes the success of Wings is down to the flexibility and hard work of the staff team to adapt the curriculum to meet the needs of the young people. The curriculum allows young people to access a range of educational environments and develop skills in numerous areas that help prepare them for a working life. He is extremely proud of the curriculum but is always looking to improve it further.
Outside of work he enjoys an active lifestyle; Rowan is a keen mountain biker and enjoys taking advantage of the countryside and the trails around the area whether that is on his bike or on foot. Rowan is also a good golfer and enjoys playing the different courses around the area.
