The football team at Wings School Cumbria has finished its season undeafeted.
The team, which has a 16-strong squad, is managed by Ryan Lock and has the sort of form any Premier League outfit would be proud of!
With a focused training schedule which sees them practice each Tuesday, the team faced stiff competition in 16 matches against other schools around the North-West including Oversands School, Wennington Hall, Chadwick Centre and Brambles School.
The team played 16 matches, won 14 and drew two, an extremely impressive performance. The highlight of the season was a tough match against Chadwick Centre which finished 5-3 to Wings.
While the achievements are of the team may seem purely to be sporting, there have been great life lessons learnt throughout the season too. The young people have learned that individual talents will only get you so far. However, the outstanding attitude and commitment to playing as a team together and working hard as a team which has helped the group achieve what they have this year.
A huge congratulations to the entire team for their fantastic effort.
