It wasnt just the young people and staff from Wings School Notts who went to Paris this year, but also those from Wings School Cumbria...sounds like they had a fantastic time too......

Summer Holiday to Paris 2018

On the 20th of August, 20 young people (YP) from Wings School Cumbria and 10 members of staff set off at 5am on a long coach trip to Paris, France. The first part of the journey consisted of driving all the way down to Dover port to catch the ferry across the English Channel to Calais.

The YP and staff enjoyed a couple hours on the ferry getting lots of photos and looking out over the sea. Some however did not enjoy it so much due to finding out that they were sea sick but managed to deal with it very well. On arrival to Calais they set straight off towards Paris which would be the base for the next 4 nights.

Bateaux-Mouches, river cruise along the Seine

For the first full day in Paris everyone got woken up at 7:30am to go for breakfast at 8am, after breakfast everyone made sure they had their pack lunches and everything else they needed for the day ahead. They all then got on the coach and set off for are first activity of the day which was the river cruise along the Seine to see all the wonderful sites of central Paris. The cruise boat passed by Notre-Dame Cathedral, other many beautiful statues and the very famous Eiffel tower.

After the river cruise they got back on the coach and were dropped off right next to the Eiffel tower to have a walk around the grounds and see how impressive it was. They spent time relaxing on the grass eating ice creams and having lots of fun. After this they broke off into smaller groups and went off shopping down the Champ Elyees which houses many famous shops and restaurants. Some did some shopping getting presents for home while others were just happy to look around and take in all the sites. Everyone was tired after a long and enjoyable first day.

Euro Disney

Everyone woke up very excited today at 7:30am because for the next two days they would be going to visit Euro Disney which everyone could not wait to get to including staff. Once they got into the main park they looked for the first ride which of course had to be Space Mountain. Once they got on the ride after queuing everyone had a great time and could not wait to go on it again. Overall most of the groups managed to get on 4 to 5 rides as some queues were a little longer than others.

There were also many shops around the park which the YP looked in getting some presents for family back home or somethings for themselves. After a great day at Euro Disney they set back off to the hotel at 5pm, once they got back they relaxed in their rooms and got an early night in preparation for the next day where they would be back at Euro Disney to check out some of the more bigger and exciting rides of the park, and hopefully finally get to meet the ever famous Goofy himself.

Day 2 Euro Disney

Once again they got up at 7:30am to get breakfast and then get back on the coach to head back to Euro Disney for a second great day. One of the main things some of the YP got to experience was they finally got to meet the ‘main man’ himself Goofy, they got lots of photos with him and lots of hugs.

Many of the other YP got to go on some of the rides they did not get to go on the day before. Everyone enjoyed some of the other fast and scary ride before heading back to the hotel after a great final day at Euro Disney.

On return to the hotel everyone went off to relax in their rooms before coming out of their rooms to find that everyone had pizzas ordered for them as it was the last night and everyone deserved a reward for the amazing behaviour while on the holiday. Everyone got stuck into the pizza and then got early nights as they would all be getting up early to set back off home.

Overall this was an amazing holiday for all of the YP and the staff. Everyone behaved well, listened and followed directions when told to. The YP will remember this holiday for a long time and would love to go back again sometime in the future.
