Work with us long

Our Key Stage 3 classes at Wings School Cumbria enjoyed a full day school trip yesterday to visit: Sea Creatures: Life beneath the Ocean - A unique insight into the science and anatomy of sea creatures. The exhibition is based at the Harrogate Convention Centre.

The exhibition highlights included full plastinated specimens of a 3.5m long Baleen Whale, 5m long Whale Shark, 3.6m long Great White Shark, 2.8m long Dolphin, Octopus, Penguin, Sting Ray and many more. Other highlights included plastinated organ specimens, including the lung & eyeball of a minke whale, shark fin and teeth, kidney of a whale, egg of a king penguin, heart of a sea lion, transparent and sliced specimens of many types of fish and much more.

Everyone had a really worthwhile trip and learnt a lot!

“It seems to me that the natural world is the greatest source of excitement; the greatest source of visual beauty, the greatest source of intellectual interest. It is the greatest source of so much in life that makes life worth living.” David Attenborough
