Specialist residential school Wings School Notts has appointed Andrew Cutts-McKay as its new Principal.
Wings School Notts offers residential and day placements for young people experiencing social, emotional or mental health difficulties. Andrew joined the school over the summer break and will oversee the teams delivering education and care to the pupils.
The new principal has more than 16 years’ experience in education, including more than a decade in senior leadership roles. These have included Head Teacher and Executive Head Teacher.
He led the transformation of an inadequate therapeutic SEMH school to good in one academic year with Ofsted stating: “Since joining the school in November 2014, the exceptional leadership of the Director of Education has transformed the provision and he has successfully eliminated previous inadequacies”.
Andrew also previously headed up a flagship therapeutic community and special school, supporting two schools within the group as Director of Education and a further 16 in his wider network on a voluntary basis.
Chief Operating Office at Kedleston, Lee Reed, said: “Over the past 20 years Andy has successfully led teams and organisations and we’re delighted to welcome Andy to Wings School Notts.”
Andy added: “I’m very much looking forward to working with the team at Wings Notts. My philosophy, and that of the team here, is deeply rooted to the belief that every child matters and that every child can succeed and achieve.”
