Some young people who come to Wood Grove may have interrupted their learning for a number of reasons. We can ensure that those entrusted to our care access every opportunity to access and enjoy learning, experience achievement and maximise their potential.
Whilst we do not provide education on site there is a supportive structure in place which introduces children and young people back in to a learning environment off site. We offer young people an opportunity to re-engage in education and catch up on missed learning so they have the opportunity to return to main stream schooling or access further education, training and employment.
Young people will also engage in an extensive life skills programme which continues in order that they receive support Post 16, through to semi or independent living. The staff team supports opportunities for work experience, including the development of employability skills.
The bedrooms are all equipped with a work space for private study time. Young people also have supervised access to computers outside normal school hours. Staff will always support and assist young people to complete homework tasks set for them.
