About the role:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Assistant to join our site team working 8 hours per day 10am - 6pm.
Key Responsibilities
- Checking for spillages in classrooms and making safe
- Assisting with lockup procedure when necessary.
- We would require someone who is comfortable with key-holding duties.
- Closing windows and locking doors
- turning lights off
- turning electrical equipment off
- setting alarm, locking up and securing the premises.
- Assisting with statutory compliance checks, e.g. water temperatures, fire alarm checks, assist with emergency lighting checks, water flushing etc (some knowledge in site statutory compliance would be preferred but training can be provided)
- Checking cars and assisting with refuelling.
- Helping with deliveries
- Helping with furniture and bulky item moves
- Assisting with grounds and keeping the outside area neat and tidy.
- Assisting site manager with general maintenance tasks that may require two people.
- Help set up special events and return to original state afterwards.
- If required, someone who would be willing to help out with dining hall and basic kitchen duties (non-catering tasks such as cleaning pots).
- Checking and stocking toilets throughout the day.
- General Housekeeping and cleaning duties
- emptying bins in the evening and hoovering
- General tasks assigned by site manager, the office manager or SLT.
- To update systems and relevant people when required. (reasonable basic IT skills required)
Customer Care
Provide high standards of customer care.
- Interact with students, staff, and visitors in a friendly and helpful manner, understanding the needs of our students.
- Participate in staff training.
Desirable criteria
- Experience in site operations
- Basic DIY Skills
- Experience of working in a Special Educational Needs (SEN) organisation
Essential Criteria
- Basic IT skills
- Ability to adapt in a multifunctioning organisation
- Must be a team player and used to dealing with people in a friendly and professional manner
- Must be able to organise their time and prioritise jobs
- Full clean driving licence
