At Kedleston Group, we specialise in providing specialist education and care for children aged 7-19 with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). These include autistic spectrum condition (ASC), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and social emotional and mental health needs (SEMH).

As Group IT Support Engineer, you will provide support to schools and children’s homes in the Northwest region and occasionally beyond.

You will be able to work with a relatively high degree of autonomy, manage your own workload and liaise with our settings daily to help fix, assist, and solve computer related issues. You will be supported by the IT Manager and will escalate issues when needed, whilst maintaining an approachable, customer-focussed demeanour and a positive, hard-working attitude.

The role operates on a hybrid basis combining working from home with an office base in High Peak and regular visits to settings in Liverpool, Bury and High Peak. Driver’s licence and access to reliable transport is therefore essential.

Qualifications, skills and experience:

  • 1-2 years’ experience in an IT support environment
  • Industry recognised qualification (e.g. CompTIA A+, HND, foundation degree or a degree in IT, computer science or a related subject.)
  • Experience of working in a regulated industry, preferably education or social care
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage own workload
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build collegial relationships with a variety of stakeholders
  • Understanding of and commitment to safeguarding and protecting children
  • Willingness to travel regularly

Why work for us?

We value your hard work and dedication, and we’re committed to ensuring you feel supported, both professionally and personally so that you are in the best position to make the most impact for the children in our care.

When you join Kedleston Group, you can be certain that your work will have purpose and meaning. You can also expect a supportive environment which enables you to excel in your role and grow in your career.

You will have access to an attractive benefits package including;

  • 33 days annual leave
  • Flexible working arrangements
  • Access to health and well-being programmes, including a free and confidential 24/7 helpline and counselling service
  • Discounts on retail, travel, and leisure through our benefits platform
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Generous life cover

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975, 2013 and 2020 and is subject to a range of vetting checks including a criminal records disclosure.

We are a disability confident committed and equal opportunities employer, welcoming applications from all sections of the community.
