Wings Notts' Adam Earnshaw and Terry Betts have been asked to share the success story of X, one of our young people. X was involved in substance misuse, daily absconding, and offending behaviour. He has shown very positive development during his time with the Wings team. Adam and Terry shared their experiences at a workshop in Salford on 5th March.
Salford Children Services have agreed to adopt and adapt the ‘No Wrong Door’ model following funding being granted by the Dfe. This innovation initially developed by North Yorkshire has been evaluated by DfE partners and has demonstrated better outcomes for children and families, reduced demand and promoted cost savings and cost avoidance. Salford will adapt this model to meet the needs of children and young people within our City.
The NWD is an integrated service and approach to supporting adolescents with complex needs. The model combines a defined culture and practice with a range of services, support and accommodation options and a team of specialists working together through a shared practice framework.
