"I thought I would write a poem about the last few months, I have been working at home throughout ‘lockdown’ due to having Asthma. I have missed seeing the children and my colleagues but have found with the use of Class Dojo, Teams, emails and phone calls that this has made it less isolating being at home. I thoroughly enjoyed hosting and arranging the ‘virtual sport’s week’ and loved seeing so many join in." – Terina, Teaching Assistant
The past few months at Arc Napton have been really very strange,
We’ve all had to adapt and see everything that we know change.
But everyone has been resilient and has tried their very best,
The staff, the children, parents and carers have all been put to the test.
We have had some wonderful work completed both at home and at school,
There is even now a rainbow made of hands on the school fence, which is so cool.
Postcards of kindness were sent home to those self-isolating which was a lovely touch,
And children filled in postcards to say why they love our school so much.
Creative sides were wonderful with a portrait of Pixie and a bandana for her to wear,
An amazing underwater world and building a boat to sail away to who knows where.
Maths work at home was completed making 3D shapes and taking away while playing darts,
Flowers made from paper and a science challenge to make a boat that floats were just some small parts.
A tower made of paper taller than ourselves, a bookmark for ‘zones of regulation’ made, need no other words,
When we finally got back to Forest School, we enjoyed making feeders for the birds.
We held a virtual ‘Sport’s Week’ with two challenges every day,
To see everyone joining in was totally amazing, what more can we say.
And now our year is ending and it’s not the same as we know,
But we will hold a leaver’s BBQ to wish the year 6’s on to wherever they may go.
So from everyone at Arc Napton the final thing for us to do,
Is wish you a happy summer, stay safe and say a big ‘thank you’ too.
