We caught up with Headteacher Jilly, to find out all about how their new hub supports the mental health and wellbeing of the children and the staff.
“What a busy half term we have had creating our brand-new Well-Being Hub! One of our office’s is newly converted into the cosy, comfortable, safe space for pupils and staff to take timeout if they are ever feeling overwhelmed or stressed. They will be able to talk freely to either Allyson (Mental Health Lead & DSL), or to Abbie (Personal Development Lead & DSP), and know they are safe and will be listened to.
As a school we are developing our provision to support pupils’ mental health and well-being. We already have a fabulous counsellor, Sera, whom we can refer pupils to and after half term will also begin to offer Equine Therapy. This will be delivered by Sorrel Griffiths. Animals can be a key to unlocking our true feelings and emotions and they're great listeners too!"
Jilly went on to tell us, “We also have a drama therapist beginning to work with us and are so looking forward to seeing how all these things can help our pupils.”
What a fantastic resource, great work Arc Oakbridge.
