The Functional Skills Speaking and Listening exams have gone extremely well. It’s been wonderful to see so many children pushing themselves to speak in front of a small audience about a topic they are passionate about.
GCSE mock exams have begun and we are so proud at how maturely and calmly the children have responded. There is such a positive attitude to learning at High Peak School within the KS4 cohort.
Mental Health Awareness Week.
The children all engaged in Mental Health Awareness Week projects in which the theme has been ‘connect with nature’. The children have been showing off their artistic skills by drawing and painting a blue tulip.
The children have also been outdoors, learning how connecting with nature can help them self-regulate and provide peaceful moments where they can practice Mindfulness.
High Peak staff have also been engaging in activities such as a staff wellbeing walk up to Black Rock. It is important for the staff to take time to reflect as a team and offer support and advice to each other.
The staff at High peak continue to work together in supporting the children and one another in ensuring that they know that there is always someone there to talk to in a time of need and promoting the importance of reaching out for help.
