Some of the children in KS3 at our Arc School Ansley went on a programme of 'travel' to the East Midlands Airport and the British Motor Museum.
They were able to make cross-curricular links to careers and history and at the British Motor Museum they even managed to link history, science, and maths together! They looked around the museum, were taken around site in a classic car, sat in some of the vehicles in the museum, practiced their hazard awareness skills on an interactive screen and completed a STEM activity where they made a model car and powered it using salt.
They saw the actual car from the films Back to the Future and Harry Potter, which sparked some interesting conversations amongst the group. It was a great day, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the experience and opportunity to get out into the community.
