We are thrilled to announce and celebrate the success of our Austen Cottage children’s home, part of the Kedleston Group. In the latest Ofsted report, Austen Cottage has received a 'good' grading in all areas, marking a brilliant achievement for the home and its dedicated team.
This accomplishment is a testament to the commitment of everyone involved in the nurturing and holistic approach at Austen Cottage. The Ofsted inspectors were especially impressed by the positive environment and relationships that have been cultivated at the home.
Strong relationships
Ofsted inspectors noted, "children remain settled and continue to say they have good relationships with the team."
Furthermore, the report highlighted, "children have positive relationships with staff. They enjoy various activities, such as meals out and camping, and are planning an upcoming holiday to the seaside this month." These activities not only provide children with opportunities to learn and grow but also create lasting memories and bonds with peers.
Focused support and safety
Austen Cottage's dedication to the well-being and safety of its children has also been acknowledged in the Ofsted report. Inspectors noted, "The manager provides staff with detailed guidance through written care plans and risk assessments about how to best support the children and keep them safe. These have been shared with the children, and staff understand these plans well and know how to manage any potential incidents to keep the children safe."
Congratulations to the team at Austen Cottage
