We are thrilled to announce and celebrate the success of our Wood Grove children’s home, part of the Kedleston Group. In the latest Ofsted report, Wood Grove has received a 'good' grading in all areas, marking a brilliant achievement for the home and its team.
This accomplishment is a testament to the commitment of everyone involved in the nurturing and holistic approach at Wood Grove. The Ofsted inspectors were especially impressed by the positive environment and relationships that have been cultivated at the home
Ofsted inspectors noted, ‘children make very good progress. They benefit from a calm, nurturing and positive environment.’
‘Children trust staff and want to spend time with them. Staff respond to children in a playful and emotionally warm way that helps children. Staff know the children extremely well and have positive relationships with their families and external professionals.’
There is also a strong focus on education, with Ofsted inspectors commenting, ‘staff think creatively about how children’s educational needs can be met…highly detailed education plans are overseen by the manager.’
One professional also said, ‘When the child first arrived, he struggled to regulate his emotions and found it difficult to express himself verbally. However, with structure and routine, the child has made excellent progress in all areas of his development.’
