Our Arc School Old Arley has a range of emotional support dogs on site to suit the range of needs of the children and young people who attend. Emotional support dogs are used effectively to support all children and young people throughout the day as needed. This may be as part of a reward, during times of crisis and for building trusting relationships.
Let’s meet the dogs..............
Rixie says “I love to go for movement breaks, especially with my ball. I will give you a cuddle if you need one – I do like a lot of fuss.”
Hi Elsa....“I make people laugh because I’m a bit silly. I am good at distraction and I like to go for movement breaks. I love a cuddle. I’m happy to do anything really.”
Lola says “I like being read to, I particularly like to sit next to you on a chair and help you do your work in the English room. I am soft to touch and like a cuddle. I am happy to go for movement breaks whenever you need them.”
Oscar says “I like to sit by you when you’re in lessons to give you a distraction when you need it or just be there for a cuddle. I will go anywhere with you on a movement break if you need it.”
How about from Bess, she says “I like to be energetic and run around so I will always help with movement breaks. I’m a bit crazy so I tend to make children smile when they’re sad or in crisis. I love cuddles and enjoy being read to.”
And finally, let’s hear from Louis....”I like calm students who want a cuddle and a chill out.”
Fantastic work, sounds like you all work really hard to keep the children and young people (and staff) really happy. Woof!
