A young person from Leaways School London has exceeded all expectations with his Maths skills, achieving a Grade 8 in his recent iGCSE examination. He had previously been predicted to achieve a Grade 5.
Now the team at Leaways have even higher aspirations for the young person, aiming for a Grade 9 in the summer examinations.
The Year 11 student has an excellent aptitude for the subject and will also be sitting a Statistics GCSE and Level 2 functional skills. The hope is when the young person leaves in the summer to study A levels in Maths, Economic and Further Maths, he will do so with three Level 2 Maths-based qualifications gained during his time at Leaways.
The young person has approached his studies with complete focus and commitment and has taken on all extracurricular activities and additional tutoring that he has been offered and the team are extremely proud of his success.
Another of the school’s young people was predicted to achieve a Grade 4 in English. This young man sat his Level 2 Functional Skills reading and writing exams in December and has achieved a pass grade which is a fantastic achievement.
The team are so proud of his progress and he will be working towards his iGCSE English qualification in the summer and having previously achieved entry 3 and Level 1 Functional Skills qualifications. He will be leaving the school at the end of Year 11 with four English qualifications to go on to undertake A levels in politics, business, and economics.
