Jasmine began working for Kedleston Group at Dovedale House, one of the our residential children’s homes. She has now moved to a second of the Group’s residential children’s homes, Millstream Lodge in Surrey which opened in July 2023.
Although still relatively new to the sector and working in care, Jasmine has proven to be a natural in the role. As a person she is warm, understanding and an ambassador for the PACE approach, a child-centred approach to childcare and education which is used across Kedleston’s registered children’s homes.
PACE stands for Playful, Accepting, Curious and Empathetic and Jasmine embodies each of those qualities entirely. As a support worker supporting vulnerable children, she is creative and thinks outside the box to find and demonstrate ways to engage with and support the children, some of whom experience complex challenges.
She has built excellent relationships. She recently played a big part in the Ofsted inspection of Dovedale House, which resulted in an outstanding in all areas of inspection grading. Inspectors noted that children at the home were ‘happy and helped to grow, thrive and achieve’ by the staff team.
She is already having a positive impact at Millstream and senior leaders share that they firmly believe Jasmine is ‘one to watch’ and has an extremely bright future ahead of her in the sector.
The nominees will find out if they have been successful at a special ceremony being held on October 21st at the ICC in Birmingham.
Wishing you the best of luck Jasmine, stay tuned for the results!
