A CHILD at High Peak School has described their experience of being supported there as “1000 out of 10”.
The feedback was reported by Ofsted inspectors following their most recent visit to High Peak, which provides both residential and day placements for children with social, emotional and mental health needs and autism and is based in Cheshire East.
Inspectors were considering the care provided by the school ‘s residential children’s home and following their visit graded it “Good”. They said children had made progress since they arrived at the home, where they were happy living and received “nurturing care from a staff team that is attuned to their needs.”
The report also noted praise from social workers and families who “speak highly” of the care provided to children. Children shared that they were regularly consulted with and, as such, feel their views and feelings are always listened to and acted on.
Children at High Peak, inspectors noted, had “excellent” attendance at school and their engagement with a range of fun interests and hobbies helped improve their confidence and relationships with peers.
