Did you know that it’s officially British Science Week?! British Science Week is a ten-day celebration of science, technology, engineering, and maths. This year's theme – connections and it runs until the 19th March 2023.
Our teachers take pride in bringing science to life in the classroom to inspire the children and ignite a passion for learning.
The science department at our Olsen House School in Sefton have literally done just that…and have welcomed in some adorable little chicks! For the last two weeks the children and staff have had the privilege of watching this amazing life cycle. They incubated 10 fertilised chicken eggs and watched them develop; beginning with pipping, watching them hatch in front of their eyes and then grow into fluffy chicks! 🐥
The children have been amazing with the chicks, cleaning them out, feeding them, caring for them and ensuring they have lots of cuddles.
What an amazing learning and development opportunity. These little chicks look ready for some Easter celebrations soon too…we’ll check back in with them soon to see how they are getting on.
Olsen House School aims to prepare children and young people for the future through a modern curriculum that meets their individual needs and provides a nurturing environment where every young person is valued and supported.
