We caught up with Jacob, the Outdoor Education Lead from our High Peak School in Cheshire East to find out more about delivering training over the recent school break…
“Over the half term I ran a Lowland Walk Leader Training Course for staff from both High Peak School and Dovedale House Children’s Home. We had 4 candidates for the 5 days where they were trained in both navigation and leadership to a level to support the Kedleston Group Duke of Edinburgh programme.
They all did really well and are excited for the assessment days which will happen before Easter. Expanding the outdoor education offer for our young people and giving them bespoke off-site experiences is my focus for this academic year.
We look forward to sharing more from their Duke of Edinburg Award adventures…
