For National Story Telling Week the children at Brookways were treated to a reading of a David Walliams short story by Head Teacher Melanie.
Each class settled down to hear her read 'Humbert the Hungry Baby' from the collection of The World's Worse Children Volume 2.
Although wearing a mask, Melanie treated the children to a full version of the story complete with sound effects: burping, thundering, wailing, ambulance sirens - and even the shrieking miaows of poor Marmalade the doomed family cat!
Every class enjoyed hearing about the antics of this most unusual baby and there was much laughter to accompany the silly sounds made by the Head Teacher!
