Ethan makes an excellent welcome speech to Oakbridge's VIP guests today, (23 March 2019) as Arc Oakbridge School was officially opened.
Birmingham City Councillors Jayne Francis and Kate Booth cut the ribbon to show that the school is now fully open.
While we are always proud of our young people, Ethan impressed everyone with his welcoming address.
" Hello ladies and gentlemen, my name is Ethan and I am 10 years old. We welcome you to the grand opening of Arc Oakbridge School. I came to this school in October 2018, I was the second student. We have nine students and eleven staff members, including one with four legs!
My favourite subject at Arc Oakbridge School is food technology because you get to make lots of nice food, sometimes chocolatey, yum! And sometimes healthy, EWW!
This is the best school I've been to because the teachers are friendly and caring, I've made lots of friends and it feels like the staff understand me. I have never been to a school where the staff understands autism and how difficult it can be for me ... until now.
Thank you to the staff for making such a difference in my life and education.
thank you for your time ladies and gentlemen, I will pass you over to Phil Petch our Headteacher now."
