In OT news, the swing frame is up, and it’s proved a real hit at Fernways! The different swings are being used in therapy sessions to support with sensory and emotional regulation, motor planning, balance, and postural control.
The swing also provides great opportunities for play and topic learning which can be woven into the sessions. Students have enjoyed exploring the
various swings including a bolster swing, cocoon swing and platform swing.
The swinging motion can provide energising input (fast swinging) or calming input (slow linear swinging).
