The children from Olsen House School have been enjoying fresh pancakes cooked by Mr Speck today with a variety of delicious toppings.
In food technology the children have been researching and making a variety of flavours of American style pancakes, including their own homemade blueberry jam to go with them. A firm favourite has been Nutella and Banana.
Children and young people from diverse backgrounds come to the Olsen House School because they cannot continue in mainstream education for various reasons.
The school provides a safe learning environment for pupils with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) with associated needs including deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and autism (ASC), moderate and specific learning difficulties (LD).
The school aims to prepare children and young people for the future through a modern curriculum that meets their individual needs and provides ‘an honest environment’ where every young person is valued and supported.
There is also a specific part of the school, called the Olsen House Bluebird Unit which supports young people who may have a primary diagnosis of autism.
Well done to everyone for getting involved and making some delicious looking pancakes! Yummy!
