Each half-term our Mill School Bury follow a specific learning theme, this theme is embedded throughout all of the lessons for the children creating a real school community feel.
The theme around school this half term is ‘People and Places’. The Hub have a different book every week focusing on people who help us in our community while The Faculty are completing a project called ‘This is Manchester’.
As part of their art work this week, they looked at different materials and their properties. Using these materials they then made a giant Manchester Bee.
They are also looking at different foods that you might find in Manchester. Last week they looked at food from China town and made a delicious stir-fry, they also made a Manchester tart, a Lancashire hot-pot and this week, they cooked healthy vegetarian samosas.
