Kirsty joins the Mill School Bury as an Education Healthcare Teacher, teaching in the school’s Primary Hub.
Kirsty is a Qualified Teacher and her passion is bringing books to life through drama and storytelling. She encourages children and young people to take control of their own learning journey and helps bring lessons to life with her imaginative and innovative approach.
Stories can teach us about life, about ourselves and about others. Storytelling and drama can encourage:
- Speaking and listening skills
- Curiosity and imagination
- Creative writing, creative thinking and problem solving
- Key word recognition and consolidation
- Multi-sensory experiences
- Development of escapism and a sense of wonder at the world.
Can you guess from the pictures what book she has been reading and focusing on with her children recently?!
Kirsty looks forward to planning a creative curriculum to ensure children are having fun whilst learning. Everyone is very excited to have her at the Mill School Bury!
