The children from Olsen House School were very lucky as they got to see one of the Zoo’s newest arrivals, an Asian Elephant. There are over 35,000 animals at Chester zoo! Everyone enjoyed looking at the different species of animals. Some children stated the African Painted dogs were their favourite and they got a great view of them as they were sheltering inside from the rain. Others enjoyed watching the Orangutans swing around and some children thought the best part was the bat cave!
Olsen House school provides a safe learning environment for pupils with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) with associated needs including deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and autism (ASC), moderate and specific learning difficulties (LD). The school aims to prepare children and young people for the future through a modern curriculum that meets their individual needs and provides ‘an honest environment’ where every young person is valued and supported.
Everyone had an excellent day and the children were excellent ambassadors for Olsen House!
