As the nation gathered around TV sets and radios to watch the final of the European Football Championships this month, Wood Grove School enjoyed an afternoon of football-themed activities focusing on cultural understanding, creativity and teamwork.
Young people enjoyed colouring and designing football kits, as well decorating the house, face painting and sampling snacks representing different European countries.
Whilst the children were familiar with Italian cheese and pizza, and many had tried Greek olives and sundried tomatoes before, the Polish smoked pork sausages and German pickled gherkins and smoked cheese were as much of a talking point as events on the pitch were.
One of our very talented and creative young people designed the football kit for his dream team and as well for Kedleston group football team.
