High Peak House has an on-site school High Peak School, this school caters to a range of needs that our residents can flourish and progress in.
Staff will support you to attend your education placement and help you with any worries.
Staff will look at ways to support you in all subjects and training so you can gain qualifications ready for adult life. For older children there are many local opportunities for vocational and academic courses these include: A levels, bricklaying, mechanics, sport, cookery, hair and beauty and animal care.
Community
There are lots of activities and opportunities in the local and surrounding areas. Where High Peak House is based in Disley, we are graced with Lyme Park which boasts picturesque views, lovely walks, and parks. In the local village there are lots of other parks, shops and cafes, there are also plenty of trails for bike riding. Our other local areas include Whaley Bridge, which is home to Skate parks and other outdoor parks. Buxton has a busy town center with clothes, games, food and many other types of shops. There is a large leisure center offering a gym, swimming, and other sports, and a cinema.
In school and college holidays your keyworker will discuss what you would like to do. This could be theme parks, attractions in the local area, holiday away from the home and much more.
