Our mission at Wings School Notts is to develop confident and capable young people by meeting their educational, health and social care needs in structured, nurturing school and home provisions.
We work in partnership with young people, their families and carers and other stakeholders to achieve outcomes which make a difference.
Many of the students at Wings Notts schools are Children in Care and as such are survivors of adverse childhood experiences which include significant relationship based trauma, around half have Educational Health and Care Plans or are in the process of assessment for special educational needs.
The aims and values of Wings School Notts are focused on providing an environment which enables us to meet the un-met needs of our students, provide opportunities for them to experience their unlived experiences, and develop their underdeveloped skills.
Through well modelled relationships we aim to restore the damage done by their earlier experiences and so support them to reach their true potential. We aspire to support them to become confident, resilient, critical thinking and skilled young people, who make a positive contribution to society and live a happy life as independently as possible.
We are committed to the following principles:
• To respect and value all individual students and staff, regardless of ability or needs.
• To provide the highest standards of care and education.
• To ensure safety, security, and opportunities for success.
• To foster students’ social, moral, spiritual, and cultural development.
