Outcomes
The school works successfully with children and young people who may have been reluctant learners, those who may have been out of school for a time or those have found it hard to engage in learning. Experienced and caring staff support children and young people to gain a range of meaningful qualifications, have a positive schooling experience and gain the self-confidence to continue on their journey in to adult life.
Careers
Staff work with children and young people to help them become more independent and ensure they are ready for life after school.
They work to develop skills for everyday life including cooking, using transport, staying safe, money and time management and independent study skills. We work closely with the young person’s family or carers and professionals to ensure they continue to enjoy and engage in learning.
When appropriate children and young people begin college and vocational courses while they are with us, to make it easier for them when they leave. We also work with the Career Connex service and have an in-house careers adviser to help students prepare for the future, some young people go on to working in the hospitality industry, joining the national service or working in care roles.
