Students in Years 9, 10, and 11 at Arc School Old Arley recently had an exciting opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of robotics during their science and technology lessons. Thanks to the support of North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College (NWSLC), who provided the RVR+ Sphero robots, students explored real-world applications of automation, coding, and engineering—enhancing their problem-solving abilities and teamwork skills in the process.
Using the RVR+ Sphero, students programmed the robots to complete various tasks, testing their logical thinking and problem-solving skills. This hands-on experience made learning more interactive and engaging, allowing students to see firsthand how robotics and AI are shaping the future. Many students found the challenge exciting and rewarding, with some even considering future careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).
The enthusiasm from students was truly inspiring, with many eager to continue exploring robotics and programming. We are incredibly grateful to North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College for providing the equipment and helping to make this opportunity possible. Their support played a key role in introducing students to the exciting possibilities of STEM careers.
As a school, we are committed to integrating more innovative technology into our curriculum, ensuring students develop the skills and knowledge needed for the future. We look forward to expanding these opportunities and continuing to inspire the next generation of engineers, programmers, and problem-solvers!
