Fernways School supports young people to gain the knowledge, skills and qualifications they need to achieve their ambitions along with a range of other vocational qualifications depending on interest and needs.
We focus on preparing children and young people for the next stage of their education or career and on developing confidence and independence.
Children and young people are encouraged to take up a wide range of learning opportunities as well as a range of qualifications including GCSEs which are available for study and achievement.
Children and young people also have a range of opportunities to take part in a range of exciting work experience placements.
At each stage, pupils, staff and parents plan together to make sure that different options are considered and transition plans in place for moving between phases of education or settings. The school embed the 4 strands of Preparing for Adulthood (PfA) into its curriculum:
- Employment
- Independent living
- Friends, Relationships & Community
- Good Health
