Chris* came to Wood Grove as a long term placement and, at the time of placement, it was thought that reunification with family was not an option.
Wood Grove staff realised that they needed to understand Chris’s needs more fully and commissioned a psychiatric report. During this time, Chris was supported to access emotional and mental health and wellbeing services that are offered by Wood Grove. One of the areas highlighted in the report was that family contact should be promoted. From this finding, staff identified that Chris would be able to move back with family as his needs were now better understood and a plan could be put in place to support him.
Chris’s good, positive outcome reflects the results that Wood Grove’s integrated approach to care can make in a young person’s life.
His social worker said;
“Thank you for all of the support that you have offered Chris, it has been lovely to work with such a child-focused team and I really hope we cross paths again in the future.
I have been really impressed with the level of support and commitment provided by Wood Grove and how supportive you have all been regarding the move to mums.
Wood Grove keeps in contact with me regularly and I have no concerns regarding the standard of care provided. Mum has also spoken positively about the support provided by staff.”
